Position Summary
The Director of Development is responsible for cultivating, soliciting, and stewarding a portfolio of 125-150 donors and prospective donors for major ($5,000 and up) and planned gifts; identifying new prospects and determining strategies for solicitation of each. This role is the primary frontline fundraiser for the organization and will collaborate closely with the President of the Foundation of Wesley Woods to plan, organize and implement the overall major and planned gifts fundraising strategy.
Key Responsibilities
- Cultivate, solicit, and steward a portfolio of 125-150 donors and prospective donors for major and planned gifts utilizing moves management philosophy.
- Identify individual prospects and develop cultivation & solicitation strategies for each.
- Serve as the primary frontline fundraiser for the Foundation of Wesley Woods and as a primary liaison between the Foundation and the ten Wesley Woods communities
- Work with the President of the Foundation to create and implement the overall major and planned gifts fundraising strategy.
- Set expectations, develop plans, and manage processes to provide exceptional donor recognition and stewardship.
- Achieve annual revenue and other targets in areas of responsibility while minimizing cost to raise a dollar.
- Maintain close association with and expert knowledge of Wesley Woods Senior Living.
- Write proposals and guide the development of other written materials used for donor solicitation & cultivation.
- Manage the legacy giving program and work to grow its membership
- Maintain up-to-date information on donors and prospects in Raiser’s Edge NXT and utilize Raiser’s Edge NXT for moves management.
- Collaborate with Donor Relations Manager on data solutions and updates.
- Serve as a mentor to the Annual Fund and Community Engagement Manager.
