Collect

Holy and Awesome are your name, O God. You are worthy of all our praise. You are great, glorious, majestic, righteous, gracious, compassionate, faithful, and trustworthy. There is none like you and we are in awe. Let us delight in you, Lord. May we savor your goodness, remember our redemption, and abide in your covenantal love. We seek your wisdom and holy understanding. Let us never rely on our own means, merit, nor might. You are our plumbline, cornerstone, firm fountain, and safe tower. So, with all that we have and all that we are make your eternal praise our priority. Praise be to God. Amen.

—Rev. Catherine Boothe Olson, Northside UMC

NOTE: A "collect" (call-ect) is a simple, focused prayer.

About the Prayer and Preparation Project

Each day from April 30 to June 3 you will be prompted with a Psalm to read, a short breath prayer or collect (call-ect) written by a North Georgia United Methodist, and prayers of invocation.

We invite you to share this with your family, small group, congregation, and Christian community. Whether you are attending Annual Conference or not, we pray this will better prepare all of us for true holy conferencing.
