Collect

Grant us the wisdom to pass on the stories of Your faithfulness to future generations. May our words and actions be a testament to Your love, grace, and mercy. May we teach our children and those around us of Your marvelous works so that they, too, may put their trust in You?

In times of trial and uncertainty, Lord, help us to anchor ourselves in Your unfailing promises. Let Your Word be a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path. Strengthen our faith so that we may not waver in the face of adversity but instead find solace and strength in Your presence.

We pray for UNITY among Your people, Lord. Help us to come together as ONE body, embracing the diversity of Your creation and extending love and compassion to ALL. In our interactions with others, may we reflect Your character, showing kindness, humility, and empathy. Finally, we lift our voices in praise and adoration. You alone are worthy of our worship and devotion. We exalt Your holy name and give thanks for Your steadfast love that endures forever.

We offer this prayer with hearts full of gratitude, knowing that You hear us and are attentive to our needs. May Your will be done in our lives, and may Your kingdom come. In the name of Jesus, our Savior, we pray. Amen.

—Rev. Sharon White, Lindsey Chapel UMC

NOTE: A "collect" (call-ect) is a simple, focused prayer.

About the Prayer and Preparation Project

Each day from April 30 to June 3 you will be prompted with a Psalm to read, a short breath prayer or collect (call-ect) written by a North Georgia United Methodist, and prayers of invocation.

We invite you to share this with your family, small group, congregation, and Christian community. Whether you are attending Annual Conference or not, we pray this will better prepare all of us for true holy conferencing.
