Collect

Almighty God,

We honor you this day, reminded anew that you are love. All of creation—before now, beyond now, and even now—lives because of your love. We adore you, we glorify you, we esteem you because your everlasting love builds and blesses. It forms and transforms. SO God, we ask that, in our human frailty, you continue to transform us with love. We ask that you free us to love. Free us to love ourselves. Free us to love others as you love us. Let our praise of you, as love, become our lives in you, through love. And then we will take care to praise you even more! We pray in the name of Jesus of Nazareth, our Christ. Amen.

Rev Dr Vance Ross, Central UMC

NOTE: A "collect" (call-ect) is a simple, focused prayer.

Psalm

1 Praise the Lord, all you nations;
     extol him, all you peoples.
2 For great is his love toward us,
    and the faithfulness of the Lord endures forever.
Praise the Lord.

Memory Verse

I will pour out my Spirit on all people.
Your sons and daughters will prophesy,

About the Prayer and Preparation Project

Each day from April 30 to June 3 you will be prompted with a Psalm to read, a short breath prayer or collect (call-ect) written by a North Georgia United Methodist, and prayers of invocation.

We invite you to share this with your family, small group, congregation, and Christian community. Whether you are attending Annual Conference or not, we pray this will better prepare all of us for true holy conferencing.
