The North GA Conference Committee on Native American Ministries is hosting a Cultural Enhancement Weekend on August 10-11. We will be going to the Museum of the Cherokee, touring the Oconaluftee Indian Village, and then attend the Unto These Hills Drama. We will spend the night in Cherokee and worship at the Cherokee Methodist Mission Church before returning home. This event is open to anyone who would like to learn more about Cherokee culture. Request a brochure and application by emailing Dr. Becki Jones. Registration deadline is July 10. Cost of the event for those paying their own way is $300. However, CONAM has grants available to those who would like to attend at no cost. Each grant covers transportation roundtrip from Pine Log UMC to Cherokee and back via charter bus, all meals, tickets, and hotel. Grant recipients will need no money except spending money and an offering for Sunday worship.
