The 2020 Southeastern Jurisdictional Conference, along with all U.S. Jurisdictional Conferences, has been postponed. The SEJ Conference was scheduled for July in Lake Junaluska.
According to our Book of Discipline, all Jurisdictional Conferences occur simultaneously on a date set by the Council of Bishops. As soon as the dates for the rescheduled General Conference are released, the Council of Bishops will set a new date for the opening of the Jurisdictional Conferences.
"I have worked with Lake Junaluska to let them know that we are pausing our planning for the immediate future," said Anne Travis, SEJ Conference Secretary. "Now is a very important time for all of us to stay well, stay healthy, and stay in vital ministry with those in our local churches, our Conferences, and our world. May God be with us all as we move toward the day we celebrate the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ."
The Commission on General Conference shared last month that the United Methodist General Conference will be postponed until 2021
