Finance and Stewardship
This workshop is for members of finance committee to provide a broad overview of the basics in stewardship and curriculum options for any size church. This is also a helpful course for church staff working with church budget and finance.

Goal Setting: It’s 2022
What do you plan to accomplish this year in Jesus' name? Join us and learn some tools, strategies, and creative ideas for developing SMART, mission-driven goals for yourself and your ministry team.   Led by Rev. Blair Boyd Zant, Director of the Center for Congregational Excellence, and Russell Davis, Director of North Georgia Camping and Retreat Ministries.

Grant Opportunities
The Barnes Evaluation and Administration Team (BEAT) launched in 2020 to distribute funds for ministry initiatives across all eight districts. Join Jason Danuser, North East District Strategic Team Chair and Dana Overton-Garrett, BEAT member & grant reviewer, to learn more about the process and how to present the best grant for your ministry.

Lay Leader, Lay Servant Ministry, & Lay Delegate Members
Kim Powell, the District Lay Leader will discuss the duties and responsibilities of a local church lay leader as well as what to expect if you are a lay member of annual conference. Kay Haugen, District Director of Lay Servant Ministries will explain how lay servant courses can make you a stronger leader in your local church. She will also clarify the differences between a lay servant and a lay speaker in order to help you determine which path is best for you.

Marketing & Technology 201: Let’s Go

MissionInsite & Your Church Plan: Mission as Discipleship from Local to Global
Rev. Scott Parrish will share ways to create a strategic, focused mission & ministry strategy based on your church and community. During the session we'll build out a mission portfolio that builds on your local context & helps advance your congregation in a practice of loving God & loving your neighbors as you do yourselves.

One Board Model
Fellow Northeast District Clergy, who have implemented the "One Board" or "Simplified" models to replace their Church Councils within their churches, will share how the models are structured within each church that is featured as well as the benefits and the challenges associated with it.  The session will have recommended resources as well as plenty of time for Q&A.

Safe Sanctuary
The General Conference mandate of 1996 requires all United Methodist congregations regardless of size to implement policies and procedures to make sure no harm comes to those under the age of 18 or vulnerable adults while they are in our care and ministry. Without intentional thought and action put into this task, your children and your congregation are put in unnecessary risks that have devastating consequences. Learn how to get started, how to improve, and how to become a place where everyone who enters your church is assured the highest level of ‘sanctuary’ possible.

Staff Parish Relations
New to the Staff Parish Relations Committee or just need a refresher on your role? Join North East District Superintendent, Alice Rogers, as she walks through the SPR Committee Manual and Calendar.
