The UMAS is an adult training conference for Boy Scout & Girl Scout leaders interested in building the Duty-to-God component of their Scout programs.  It is also designed for Clergy interested in starting a Scout program (Boy Scout and Girl Scout) or a Big Brothers Big Sisters program at their church.

Participants:  Adult Scouters, Scout Coordinators (CORs) and Clergy.

Hosted by UMCOS/ Open to Everyone:  Although this Academy is conducted by the United Methodist Committee on Scouting, it is open to Church and Scout leaders of all faiths interested in starting/ expanding Duty-to-God in their areas.

Program:  13 courses are offered this year with several being offered during multiple periods.

–  Unit Chaplain Training
–  Scout’s Own Services
–  Scout Sunday Observances
–  Building Duty to God into your Unit Program
–  Volunteer Recognition
–  A Discussion on YPT/Safe Sanctuary Training
–  COR Training (3 periods)
–  How to Organize & Run a P.R.A.Y. Program
–  Boy Scouts – Starting a new Unit
–  Girl Scouts – Starting a new Troop (included w/ Lunch, period 4)
–  Big Brothers/Big Sisters Program (included w/ Lunch, period 4)
--  A Clergy's Guide to Scouting as a Ministry
--  My Promise, My Faith (Girl Scout Religious Program)

Cost:  $0 (Free). Includes patch. Donations accepted to provide P.R.A.Y. scholarships for Packs, Troops and Churches.
