Prayer Service for Peace in Korea

“He shall judge between the nations, and shall arbitrate for many peoples; they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruning hooks; nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.” Isaiah 2:4

After months of verbal and military provocation between the United States and North Korea, it appears the entire Korean peninsula is at risk for dangerous conflict. As followers of Jesus, we are coming together to pray for the United States, North and South Korea, neighboring countries, their leaders, and that God would intervene to prevent deadly and senseless war.

North Georgia United Methodists are invited by Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson, the Conference Commission on Religion and Race, and the Korean Church of Atlanta to come together in worship and prayer.

Those in the Atlanta-Roswell District and others close by are invited to gather for a service of worship and prayer this Sunday, January 21, at 5 pm. The church will provide dinner after the service for all in attendance.

Others are invited to lift their prayers for peace on Sunday at 5 pm.

A special offering will be raised for UMCOR to go towards relief efforts in Puerto Rico.
