District Resources

As churches prepare the church building for the return of the congregation, supplies may be needed and difficult to find. We have created a resource of supplies that may be helpful to churches in our district. Please be aware of shipping and restocking delays. Resource list (pdf updated 6.3.20)

Current Community Needs

As many of you know, Hall County is a hot spot for the coronavirus.  The Hispanic community has been hit particularly hard, and our Hall County churches are responding in a stellar way. Our District Superintendent met with these pastors and representatives from several non-profits last Thursday, and we identified ways others beyond the city of Gainesville and Hall County can help with specific needs as a means of responding in love and mission to the deep need there right now.

Here are a few ways to help:

  • Family Promise is delivering food and supplies.  They have an Amazon link to the specific items they need.  You may order from this link and the items will be delivered directly to Family Promise to distribute.

  • Cleaning/Hygiene Boxes.  Redwine UMC and Gainesville First UMC are delivering these boxes to homes in hard hit neighborhoods.  You may assemble these boxes and deliver to:

Redwine UMC, 3285 Poplar Springs Road,
    Gainesville, GA 30507

    or

Gainesville First UMC, 2780 Thompson Bridge Road, Gainesville, GA 30506

Donations may also be dropped off at:

Oakwood First UMC in the storage buckets outside the church office 4315 Allen Street, Oakwood, GA

or

McEver Road UMC in the black and yellow boxes in breezeway 3606 McEver Road, Oakwood, GA

or

Redwine UMC 3285 Poplar Springs Road, Gainesville, GA

  • Due to the loss of jobs, many are not able to pay rent or utilities.  United Way is helping with this need.  Donations may be made through the United Way link.
