Provide leadership and spiritual guidance to youth and their families, young adults, and the volunteers in these ministries at Tuckston UMC in order to make strong followers of Jesus Christ to be sent into the world to serve others TUMC MISSION Love God, Love People in order to make disciples for Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.

Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following: Lead and facilitate the development of a comprehensive discipleship program for Youth Ministry: - Recruit, train, and mentor volunteers to support the youth ministry programming and events. Work with the Youth Council and other youth leaders to carry out youth programs. - Sunday Responsibilities include overseeing Sunday School classes through training and supporting the teachers; leading and training youth small group leaders who serve at the youth worship service called The Harbor; leading all aspects of The Harbor. - Weekly responsibilities include planning and coordinating all aspects of the Tuckston After School Program; mentoring and supervising a youth intern, partnering with programs such as FCA, YoungLife, and Godly Queens; building relationships with youth and their families through attending school related functions. - Plan and lead special events including a ski trip, The Mix, a confirmation retreat, mission fundraisers, and the senior luncheon. Plan and lead service and fellowship opportunities for youth including summer mission trips and opportunities for the youth to engage in church activities. - Administrative duties include communicating with volunteers and families, communicating with Sunday School teachers, small group leaders, and volunteers concerning youth programming and events, and maintaining the youth budget.

Lead and facilitate the development of a comprehensive discipleship program for Young Adult Ministry: - Coordinate and lead weekly small groups such as Young Adult Sunday School and Mid-Week Bible Study. Plan and lead service and fellowship opportunities for young adults - Recruit, train, and supervise a youth ministry intern - Recruit and train young adults to serve within the church including but not limited to opportunities in the worship team, youth ministry, the After School Program. - Maintain a partnership with the UGA Wesley Foundation. Operate as a bridge to connect Wesley students to a local church. Connect with Wesley to support their youth leadership opportunities.

Responsible for pastoral care associated with Youth Ministry - Including but not limited to house calls, hospital visits, and school visits for the purpose of mentoring and nurturing youth, young adults, families and volunteers.

Skills, Attributes, & Qualifications Required: Bachelor Degree and 3-5 years of Youth Ministry experience. A strong sense of call and passion for ministry with youth and young adults. Spiritual Maturity. Computer and technology skills. Strategic thinker with strong oral and written communication skills. A team player, organizer and self-starter. Produce results with minimum supervision and guidance. Some budgetary experience. Excellent Mentor with the ability to develop interns and volunteers. Demonstrate character, core values and personal lifestyle compatible with a Christ-centered ministry and be willing to embrace the mission and vision of Tuckston United Methodist Church.

Desired: Leadership training. Strong administrative skills. Established relationships with other children’s ministry programs within the Methodist Denomination as well as the community.
