Lawrence Moves into New Role at Conference Office

The North Georgia Conference is pleased to announce that this fall Rev. Dr. Tonya Lawrence transitioned to a new role at the United Methodist Center. She now serves in the Conference Office of Congregational Development as Associate Director for Black Church Ministry. She previously served as Associate Director of Connectional Ministries.  Rev. United Methodist Center to Begin Weekly Worship in December

Beginning December 6, the staff United Methodist Center will gather for Weekly Worship on Wednesdays. The liturgy will include a hymn, prayer, communion, scripture reading, and a homily from a visiting North Georgia Conference clergy member. A clergy staff member will serve as celebrant each week.  The service will be held from 11:15 to 11:45 a.m. in the Davis Room. Giving for Hurricane Relief Nears $700k from North Georgia United Methodists

North Georgia United Methodists have shown an abundance of generosity in response to this fall's hurricanes and tropical storms. Combined September and October giving to UMCOR (the United Methodist Committee on Relief) through the North Georgia Conference totals $691,263.45.
