Update from Northeast Conferences: Early Response Teams may register to respond

The Northeastern Jurisdiction has over 1,500 persons trained and badged through our UMCOR process. MISSISSIPPI CONFERENCE SEEKS IN-STATE VIM TEAMS ONLY (UMNS) Mississippi Annual Conference has yielded calls from several out-of-state teams. However, Steve Casteel, conference director of communication and connection, said, "We are only in the process of preparing for in-state teams. UMVIM Teams needed for hurricane response in Louisiana

Early Response Teams will complete their initial work in Louisiana Sept. 30. Starting Oct. 1, teams with a trained UMVIM Team Leader are needed to help with the ongoing response. North Georgia Conference donates $10,000 to Walker County for disaster relief

From CatWalkChatt.com   Recently, the North Georgia Conference of the United Methodist Church donated $10,000 to Walker County to support disaster relief efforts. “With the recent up-tick in storms that we have had to contend with, this money will certainly help bring much-needed relief to those most affected,” said Walker County commissioner Bebe Heiskell.
