Impact will be hosting a six-week “Celebration Experience” beginning on May 4th with the grand opening of their new location. The congregation will now reside at 2323 Sylvan Road in East Point.

What was once a retired warehouse is now a source of spiritual life for current and future “Impactors” who strive to nurture “a multicultural gathering of people committed to sharing the love of Christ with the world.” Having started Impact at Brown Middle School in 2007, Pastor Olu Brown is confident in the fellowship their move will deliver.

“Seven years later, God has blessed us in magnificent ways by acquiring a property, building it out, and continuing to reach people for Jesus Christ,” says Rev. Brown. “Our vision and faith allowed us to turn an old vacant warehouse into a dynamic ministry and resource center in the wonderful community of East Point.”

Even while meeting in the middle school auditorium, Impact exceeded a number of high standards. It rests in the ten percent of North Georgia church plants that break a thousand attendants within five years.

“Olu is a trail blazer of church planting,” says Executive Director of Path 1 New Church Starts, Candace Lewis. “Impact has exceeded all expectations. It has become a model church plant, not just for African American churches, but across the board.”

When a church is first planted, it is often suggested that the pioneers visit with Impact to find encouragement and learn from a successful congregation. Lewis adds that the most noteworthy pieces of the Impact family are the appropriate uses in technology and their flourishing young adult attendance, two areas that new churches find troubling.

All are invited to celebrate the success of Impact’s latest big step. Their campaign, “Renew| The Celebration Experience”, presents special speakers from May 7th to June 9th  including Adam Hamilton, Kirbyjon Caldwell, Bishop Vashti McKenzie, Dr. Claudette Copeland, among others. Sha’ Simpson, Ken Ford, Celia, Darlene McCoy, Lisa McClendon, Josiah “JoJo” Martin, Clinton Babers, Latrese Bush, Rhonda Thomas, Joann Rosario-Condrey, James Fortune, Wayne Kerr are a few guests invited to lead worship.

Dedication day is Sunday June 1st, and the following Saturday is an afternoon of celebration with great food, music, and fellowship at the Renew + Block Party from 12PM-4PM. A youth confirmation will take place the next day.
