As we continue to navigate the Coronavirus pandemic, the 2021 North Georgia Annual Conference will be held online June 3-5, 2021. The Conference will include three parts: a virtual Clergy Executive Session, a virtual Annual Conference Business Session, and two live-streamed worship services with limited in-person participation.
Annual Conference 2021 will focus on the theme “Love is Making Room” and our Special Offering will go to the North Georgia Conference Ministerial Education Fund.
The timeline includes:
The 2021 Annual Conference session and Clergy Session will utilize the same trusted online meeting and voting platform that was used in 2020. The platform will allow members to securely participate using a laptop or desktop computer. The platform will also allow guests to view the Annual Conference session. A condensed agenda will include only items before the Annual Conference that are essential so that the session can be conducted in one day.
Clergy retiring in 2021 and those who retired in 2020 will be honored virtually during the Annual Conference session. The Passing of the Mantle and Retiree Recognition will be available for viewing and download after the close of the Annual Conference session.
The Service of Remembrance will memorialize the clergy, clergy spouses, and lay leaders who died between April 15, 2019 and April 15, 2021. The Service of Ordination will include the ordination and commissioning of those elected to provisional and full connection membership in 2020 and 2021.
Both services will be live-streamed on Saturday, June 5, and made available for viewing and download after the services. In-person attendance at the two services will be limited to worship leaders, service participants, and a small number (to be determined) of ticketed guests.
