General Secretary of Kairos Palestine to Speak in North Georgia

North Georgia UMs Invited to St. Mark UMC or Peachtree Road UMC to Hear from Khoury
As the North Georgia Conference works to establish a mission bridge to Jerusalem, and as General Conference faces several resolutions about Palestine/Israel, Hind Khoury comes to share about the possibilities and dilemmas facing Christians in the region. She is a Palestinian Christian, an economist, and the newly appointed General Secretary of Kairos Palestine, which includes representatives of nearly all the Christian denominations in Palestine and Israel.
She will visit the North Georgia Conference on Sunday, September 27, speaking at St. Mark UMC in Atlanta during the 9 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. services, then speaking at Peachtree Road UMC as part of the congregation's Justice Sunday at 4 p.m.
Khoury served as Minister of Jerusalem Affairs with the Palestinian Authority and was appointed as the Ambassador of Palestine in France where she served until 2010.
She has also worked in development of the occupied Palestinian territories (oPt) with USAID, UNDP, UNFPA, the Bethlehem 2000 Project, the Multi-sector Review of East Jerusalem Project, NORAD and UNESCO. She also serves on the Board of Bethlehem Bible College and as President of the Bethlehem Rotary Club.
In addition to North Georgia, her itinerary includes stops in the Virginia, South Carolina, North Carolina, Western North Carolina and West Ohio Conferences, along with meetings at the General Board of Global Ministries and the U.S. State Department
