Bishop Holston to Speak at Kelley Chapel Men's Day Celebration

Bishop Jonathan Holston of the South Carolina Conference is "coming home" to North Georgia to take part in the Men's Day Program of Kelley Chapel UMC in Decatur next month.

The celebration begins on Saturday, Sept. 13, with a breakfast, featuring Minister Lawrence A. Marbury, a member of the church.

On Sunday, Sept. 14, Bishop Holston will offer the message during the Kelley Chapel United Methodist Church Men's Day Program at 9:30 a.m. The theme is “A Man Who Walks with God is moving in the Right Direction.”

Bishop Holston was elected bishop by the Southesastern Jurisdiction of The United Methodist Church on September 1, 2012. He was overwhelmingly elected on the very first ballot.

Before his election as bishop, he served as senior pastor of St. James UMC in Atlanta and as Superintendent of the Atlanta-Decatur-Oxford District.

The senior pastor at Kelley Chapel is the Rev. Dr. Derrick R. Rhodes and Charles Brown is President of the United Methodist Men at the church. Everyone is welcome.
