Simpson Chapel to be Relocated to Simpsonwood UMC Grounds

Simpsonwood United Methodist Church recently shared the news with its members that the North Georgia Conference will provide funding for the relocation of the rustic English-style Simpson Chapel from Simpsonwood Retreat Center to Simpsonwood UMC.
 
A motion to fund the move of the chapel to the Simpsonwood UMC grounds was approved at the called session of the North Georgia Conference Oct. 25.  
 
“Receiving the Simpson Chapel will be a tremendous blessing to Simpsonwood United Methodist Church,” said church pastor Rev. Brian Clark. “We presently worship in the Chapel every Monday night, and we will continue to utilize the Chapel for worship and ministry on a weekly basis.”
 
By receiving the Simpson Chapel, Simpsonwood UMC ensures that the chapel will be maintained on a part of the original Simpson family property.
