Rev. Stephen Dodson Receives the 2014 E. Malone Dodson Clergy Award

Congratulations to Rev. Dr. Stephen M. Dodson, senior pastor at Peachtree City UMC, on being named the 2014 Malone Dodson Award recipient by Wesley Woods Senior Living. Since 1998, the E. Malone Dodson Clergy Award is given annually to the clergy person of the North Georgia Conference who best exemplifies visionary and committed leadership with respect to older adults.

Rev. Stephen Dodson remarked that his love for Wesley Woods was in his DNA. The Malone Dodson Award is named for Rev. Dr. Malone Dodson, longtime senior pastor of Roswell United Methodist Church, one of the state’s largest United Methodist congregations. He retired in 2001 and is the father of Dr. Steve Dodson. Rev. and Mrs. Malone Dodson were present at the awards ceremony honoring their son for his support of Wesley Woods through the annual Mother’s Day Offering.

Under the leadership and direction of Dr. Dodson, Peachtree City UMC contributed more than $10,000 to the Foundation of Wesley Woods this year. These contributions help to provide housing, meals, and skilled care for more than 1,500 senior citizens residing at Wesley Woods Senior Living Center.

Current and upcoming Peachtree City UMC projects include: “15 in ‘15” a series to help people grow in their spiritual walk and expand their faith in 2015; Reading through the Bible in a year, Together; Global Impact Celebration for missions, Feb. 2015; and Grow Deeper series.
