Vince Dooley to Speak at Action Ministries 46th Annual Meeting

Coach Vince Dooley, an iconic figure in Georgia, will be the keynote speaker at the 46th Annual Meeting of Action Ministries, Inc. on September 10.

The evening’s event, held at Dunwoody United Methodist Church, is a celebration of Action Ministries’ life-changing programs all over north Georgia.

In addition to Coach Dooley’s remarks, the dinner event will recognize several individuals who have made significant contributions to Action Ministries across the state.  Local media personality, Jennifer Leslie of 11 Alive News, will be the mistress of ceremony.

As part of the festivities, Action Ministries will induct long-time supporters Dan McCue, Rosalie North and Mary Weisenberg into the Action Ministries Hall of Fame.

Bill Dahlberg, former chairman of Southern Company and Mirant Corporation and active member of the Action Ministries Advisory Council will be honored as Philanthropist of the Year.

Roger Lane of Gainesville will receive the Frances Sowers Volunteer of the Year Award.

Action Ministries, Inc. is an independent, faith-based, charitable organization headquartered in Atlanta with program offices in Athens, Atlanta, Augusta Decatur, Gainesville, and Rome plus numerous transitional housing sites across north Georgia.  Programs focus on alleviating hunger, homelessness and addiction and equipping families to prosper.
