Sugar Hill Hispanic ministry is largest in conference
Sugar Hill Hispanic ministry currently is averaging 225 in worship attendance, being the largest Spanish worship service in the North Georgia Conference. The Hispanic congregation also gathers more than 70 children between the ages of one and ten on Sundays and has a preteen class with 15 in attendance and 45 youth that meet weekly.
One of the strategies that have been most effective in the Sugar Hill Hispanic ministry is the development of small groups. Currently, there are 12 small groups that meet in homes around Sugar Hill, Buford, Oakwood and Cumming, with 2 new groups to begin in January 2011.
The Office of New Church Development applauds the commitment and faithfulness that Sugar Hill United Methodist has shown in birthing and supporting this Hispanic ministry.
