Bishop Watson announces new appointments effective July 1, 2011

Bishop Watson announces three North Georgia Conference Cabinet appointments and two local church appointments. 

Herzen Andone will move from Peachtree City UMC to become the district superintendent of the Northwest District.  Mike Cavin, current district superintendent of the Northwest District, will move to Milledgeville First UMC as the senior pastor. 

Richard Chewning will move from Greensboro First UMC to become the district superintendent of the Gainesville District.  Gerald Thurman, current district superintendent of the Gainesville District, has applied for Incapacity Leave due to the seven-year progression of Parkinson’s Disease.  

Dana Everhart will move from McDonough First UMC to become the district superintendent of the Atlanta Emory District.  Jim Cantrell, current district superintendent of the Atlanta Emory District, will move to Snellville UMC as the senior pastor.
