The board of directors, management, and staff of the Georgia Florida Methodist Federal Credit Union are pleased to announce a merger with the Alabama-West Florida Methodist Federal Credit Union which was completed at the end of April, 2011.
Keith Pritchard, Georgia Florida Federal Credit Union chief executive officer, states “We are so excited that Alabama-West Florida is joining our family. It just makes our existing Georgia Florida family even stronger.”
This merger combines two financially strong Methodist credit unions. Currently Alabama West-Florida Federal Credit Union has 336 members and assets of $1.6 million. Georgia Florida Methodist Federal Credit Union has over 4600 members with $23.8 million in assets.
Pritchard adds, “This merger makes our credit unions fiscally stronger through economies of scale while helping to reach more United Methodists with affordable financial services. The money that we save our members can be used toward helping them enrich their personal and spiritual lives.”
Alabama-West Florida Methodist Federal Credit Union was chartered in 1967 and is currently located in Georgiana, AL.
