Africa University student receives degree in part to North Georgia Conference scholorship

Africa University celebrated its seventeenth graduation ceremony on June 11, 2011.  349 graduates received undergraduate and graduate degrees this year totaling over 4,000 graduates since the opening of the University.

One of the 2011 degree recipients was Ruhiu Mercy Wanjiku of Kenya. Wanjiku received a scholarship from the North Georgia Conference enabling her to receive her Bachelor of Science degree in economics.

“The North Georgia Conference’s endowment scholarship has afforded Wanjiku an opportunity that she otherwise would not have had to obtain a first-rate university education,” said Elaine Jenkins, Africa University director of planned giving.

She added, “Thank you for continuing to believe in the future of African University and in the worth of its mission to train new leaders for the nations of Africa.”
