Action Ministries' Smart Lunch, Smart Kid Call for Volunteers

Have you ever wanted to make a difference in the lives of others? Better your community? Impact the next generation? Help with Action Ministries’ summer nutrition initiative Smart Lunch, Smart Kid.

Halfway through its inaugural year, Action Ministries’ newest statewide initiative, Smart Lunch, Smart Kid is proving to be a huge success. In 17 cities across North Georgia, congregations of all denominations are working hand in hand with local business and civic organizations to insure that children in their communities’ have a nutritious lunch during the summer months. The citizens of these cities are doing much more than filling bellies; they are truly making an impact in the lives of thousands of children and are forging community relationships that will prove to be beneficial for years to come.

In five weeks, halfway through its inaugural run, the Smart Lunch, Smart Kid program has served over 61,000 lunches in these 17 cities!  With a goal of serving 100,000, we are on our way to surpassing that goal. If your organization has not had the opportunity to take part in this wonderful ministry, there is still time to get involved!

Congregations, individuals, families, youth groups, and Sunday school classes are invited to make and donate lunches, hold food drives to collect the lunch supplies, or come out and deliver to the kids!

It is as easy as that! If you can make a sandwich, you can make a difference! If you can take time to read to a child, you can make a difference! If you can pick up an extra pack of cheese or loaf of bread at the store, you can make a difference!
Please contact Mark Hellman, Smart Lunch, Smart Kid Executive Director at to let him know you want to volunteer!
