Preview of things to come: Connexion Church opens its doors to Rockdale, Newton residents
10/16/2012
In early August Connexion Church asked residents of Rockdale and Newton counties living along Salem road: "Does a fresh start sound good to you? Then come check out Connexion Church. We are a brand new church in your neighborhood that is full of hope, energy, and friendly people. Our goal is to help our neighbors, like you, learn more about God and how he loves you and wants the very best for your life. Join us for a relevant message, great music, and a fresh start with new friends."
Sunday, Oct. 7, they came through with a exciting preview service.
Connexion Church, the newest church plant in the North Georgia Conference, is meeting in Peachtree Academy, a local Christian private school in the Conyers/Covington area. The Oct. 7 service was well attended by both prospective church families from the community and United Methodist friends showing their support.
The room was filled with excitement as families and friends filled the worship space before the service. The response to the message by the Rev. Andrew Covington, lead pastor, was very positive as he charged them to follow the call of Hebrews 12:1-4 and Run the Race.
Connexion will continue preview services on Nov. 4, Dec. 2 and Dec. 22, with a goal of beginning weekly services in January and a public launch in February. The Connexion launch team covets your prayers as they continue to reach out in their mission field.
