Fields Chapel UMC: Busy December planned


   A new 8:40 a.m. Sunday service with childcare has been added at Fields Chapel UMC. A women’s Bible study that meets at 6 p.m. Thursdays will address how to have the kind of Christmas that leads you to a worshipful Christmas. A men’s study meets at 6 p.m. Tuesdays, addressing the theme “Right of Passage: Adulthood should not be an accident.”
     Breakfast with Santa is planned for Dec. 8 at the Chapel. A collection of new and used shoes and socks will be taken for the homeless in Atlanta.
     Church members are collecting stocking stuffers for residents of the Goshen Valley Boys’ Ranch (, including items like a ball cap, T-shirt, watch, toothbrush, deodorant, candy, etc. Personalized Christmas cards are being collected for residents. Items needed by Dec. 19.
     On Dec. 16, Christmas Caring gifts will be accepted to benefit Forever Fed, a mobile feeding ministry, and the Administrative Assistant Fund, to cover a portion of the salary for an assistant’s position for the church.
