Mountain View UMC: Bethelehem Walk draws more than 7,000

Church members presented the 20th annual presentation of Bethlehem Walk earlier this month, and counted more than 7,000 visitors, including some from as far as the United Kingdom.
Volunteers re-created the shops, townspeople, census takers, Roman soldiers and other aspects of life during the time of Jesus’ birth. The annual production involves more than 175 church members and area volunteers who begin setting up the “city” the week after Thanksgiving.
More than 1,000 preschoolers, home schoolers and seniors visited during a special presentation on a Friday morning. Mountain View church member Cindy Thorne said the comments overheard included: “Our 2nd year coming, thank you for keeping Christ in Christmas.” “Our first year and we loved it all.” “Good reminder of the reason. We’ve been coming for years.” ‘Thanks for the many years of blessings.”
