More than 700 people were welcomed by Boynton UMC members to the church's second annual "Christmas at the Farm" community event on December 23. The two-hour event featured a Christmas drama, petting zoo, craft for kids, Santa, hayride, firepit, hot beverages and snacks.

The event is held at a church member's farm one mile south of the church.

"At Christmas, we celebrate incarnation, God invading the neighborhood," commented Rev. Brett DeHart. "That is exactly what Christmas at the Farm is, the church taking Christ's love into the neighborhood."

Boynton has found a niche in its community by hosting events at the farm.

"It connects us with hundreds of people every year and is starting to get us a reputation -- a good one -- in our community," said DeHart. "We've had two Christmas at the Farm events (attendance: 1000+ and 700), one Last Blast of Summer (attendance 300 on a rainy day) and a yearly sunrise Easter service."
