Social Media Broadens Conversation at #ngac13

6/14/2013

Twitter, Facebook and Instagram figured heavily into the conversation at North Georgia Annual Conference this week. Using hashtag #ngac13, members and guests debated, joked and shared information over the web.

Bishop Mike Watson even inspired a hashtag of his own when he asked delegates to be thoughtful in their online posts. "Tweet Sweet," he said. Moments later #TweetSweet was adopted by the Twitter crowd!

A highlight on Instagram was one pastor's log of all the babies she encountered in attendance. She had posted at least 22 baby pictures on the social media app by close of Conference.

Here are a few posts that caught our eye:

Well done United Methodist of the North Georgia Conference, privileged to minister together in Athens these last few days and thrilled to be reappointed to Northside UMC. How about we gather again next June?
