Hear, Discern and Respond to Your Calling

Exploration 2013 is a three-day event for young adults age 18-26 to hear, discern, and respond to God’s call to ordained ministry and to explore their gifts for service as a deacon or elder in The United Methodist Church.

This event, sponsored by the General Board of Higher Education and Ministry, will be held Nov. 15-17 in Denver, Colorado. Registration is open at www.explorecalling.org/exploration.  Register by Sept. 20 and the cost, which includes housing, is $175.  After Sept 20, the cost goes up.  There are $175 reimbursement scholarships available for first time Exploration attenders who register by Sept. 20. Additionally, the North Georgia Conference will award $250 travel stipends to up to 20 attendees. To receive the travel stipend, register, then submit your receipt for registration and travel to Office of Ministerial Services at bwaits@ngumc.org.

Rev. Jasmine Smothers, Associate Director of Connectional Ministries, will be MC for the event. Featured speakers include North Georgia's Rev. Beth LaRocca-Pitts. Other leaders from our Conference will attend and provide support including Wesley Foundation directors and Ministerial Services staff.
