On Friday, February 6, the North Georgia Conference and Gwinnett County closed on the sale of the Simpsonwood property. For more than 40 years this beautiful retreat and meeting site played a special role in the life of our Conference. We are grateful for the opportunity to serve so many groups and gatherings over that time, and we are confident that Gwinnett County will be good stewards of the land that we have enjoyed for more than four decades.
The Conference relocation committee has narrowed the possible sites for the new United Methodist Center, and our real estate agent and space planner continue to work together to help choose the site. The relocation committee will report its recommendation to the Conference Board of Trustees on March 5.
We have set a target date of July 1 to be in new office space.
