Collinswood Begins Work on Third Cottage

The Aldersgate / Collinswood Board of Directors is pleased to announce that work is beginning on the construction of a third cottage at Collinswood.

Collinswood is a universally accessible camp, retreat and recreation facility located on Lake Oconee between Madison and Greensboro. The new cottage will add 15 - 20 beds in 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms with living and dining space that is also appropriate for small meetings. Collinswood also has a meeting and dining hall, covered pavilion, nature trail, lakefront gazebo, bathhouse and dock. All facilities on the campus are wheelchair accessible.

Rev. Dr. Terry Walton, Building Chair for the Board of Directors announced that the new cottage will be built by John White, Jr. Custom Homes under the supervision of Ken Lowery, Volunteer Building Supervisor. Work is scheduled to begin this week with completion projected for early summer.

"The Board of Directors is pleased to be adding to the facilities at Collinswood and look forward to expanding our services to all persons, especially those with Developmental Disabilities and mobility limitations," said Marian Wilder, President of the Aldersgate / Collinswood Board.
