Aldersgate Homes Welcomes New Board Chair, Director Announces Retirement

The future holds adventures and challenges as Aldersgate Homes and Collinswood continues to serve persons with Developmental Disabilities!

Board President and one of the founders of Aldersgate Homes, Marian Wilder, will retire from the role after serving with distinction for many years,

Dr. Gue Hudson, retired Vice President and Dean at Agnes Scott College, has accepted the role and responsibilities of President of the Aldersgate and Collinswood Board of Directors. Gue has served the Board for a number of years and she comes prepared! Among Gue’s many contributions at Agnes Scott, she brought the Best Buddies organization to campus. Best Buddies connects students with “Buddies” with special needs, providing opportunities for learning, fun and growth for both the students and the buddies. Gue is married to Bill Hudson and they have 3 sons and some precious grandchildren. Gue and Bill are parents to an adult son who is part of the disability community, so Gue brings special knowledge and awareness to her position as Board President.

"We welcome Gue and look forward to fresh ideas, new perspectives and her leadership as we continue to serve persons with special needs," said Director Becky Bocian.

Bocian also looks forward to change as she recently announced that she will retire this year after more than 12 years as Executive Director.

"I have loved our residents, our friends in group homes and other special living arrangements, had wonderful times with members of the Board of Directors and volunteers, and truly found rest and recreation at Collinswood, the most beautiful spot on Lake Oconee!," wrote Bocian. "I appreciate so very much the churches, groups, Sunday School classes, and individuals who pray for this ministry and support it in so many ways. Your donations make this ministry possible and in giving, you touch countless lives and share and show God’s love for all His children."

The search for a new director is underway.
