One in Ministry: Planning for Annual Conference 2020

Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson and the Annual Conference Planning Committee are busy preparing for the 2020 North Georgia Annual Conference Session, set for June 18-20 at The Classic Center in Athens. This year's theme is "One in Ministry to All the World."
This is our third year drawing our theme from the beloved prayer in our United Methodist Communion Liturgy: "May we be one with Christ, one with each other, and one in ministry to all the world." In 2018 we focused on spiritual disciplines as we strove to be one with Christ. In 2019, we deepened our relationship with one another with a focus on listening and reconciliation. The focus for this year's Annual Conference will be on mission as we listen, learn, and discern how we might truly be one in ministry to all the world.

The Dates and Location
The 2020 North Georgia Annual Conference will return to The Classic Center in Athens. Athens has become home-away-from-home for North Georgia United Methodists who have met in this facility for more than two decades. This year we will meet
June 18-20, a Thursday through Saturday.
The Schedule
The agenda for the 2020 North Georgia Conference is still being developed, but the framework is in place. The Conference is scheduled to begin on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. with the clergy executive session in the Classic Center Theater. Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson will preach Opening Worship on Thursday at 2 p.m. The Service of Remembrance is scheduled for Friday at 2 p.m., and the Service of Licensing, Commissioning, and Ordination is set for Saturday morning at 10:30 a.m. All worship and plenary sessions will be in the Grand Hall.

Childcare
There are two options for childcare, one for infants through rising kindergarteners offered Thursday through Saturday and one on Saturday-only for rising first graders through rising fifth graders. Both options will correspond with the hours the Annual Conference is in session. Childcare is available for members of the Annual Conference and for guests attending the Service of Ordination Saturday.

Annual Conference Saturday Camp: Rising 1st - Rising 5th Graders

Half and Full Day option
This fun program will be led by an NGUMC Children's Ministry Director and Staff. All are Safe Sanctuaries and First Aid trained. Lunch and snacks provided.
Registration will open later this spring.
