In the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity, Christians are reminded of Jesus’ prayer for his disciples that “they may be one so that the world may believe” (John 17.21). Hearts are touched and Christians come together to pray for their unity.
This year the Week of Prayer for Christian Unity began January 18 and ends on January 25. The theme is “Justice, and only justice, you shall pursue” (Deuteronomy 16:18-20).
The Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta organized a series of video prayers and reflections from Christian leaders in Metro Atlanta, including Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson of the North Georgia Annual Conference. The series began with a reflection from Archbishop Wilton D. Gregory of the Catholic Archdiocese of Atlanta.
Bishop Sue's reflection is featured today, January 22.
