Clergy Are Invited to 'Take a Break for Mission'

The responsibilities and requirements of pastoral ministry in the local church are many and they are constant. Could you use a break from your desk, the phone calls, and committee meetings? Would you like to take time away this Lent to serve and, at the end of the day, see that you've completed something that made a difference?

North Georgia Conference clergy are invited to step outside our churches one week and work together for a day or two or the whole week, March 12-16, in Lumberton, NC, where the community is still recovering from Hurricane Matthew.

"Our friends in Lumberton still have a couple of hundred houses that need repair and restoration," said Rev. Herzen Andone, director of Connectional Ministries. "Make the short drive and stay for a couple of days or for the week. You can come by yourself or with someone who'd like to experience missional service."

The cost is $25 and lodging is free at a facility provided by the North Carolina Conference, or clergy are welcome to book a room at a nearby hotel.
Breakfast and lunch will be provided. Dinners will be on our own. The North Carolina Conference will provide the tools you'll need for the work we will be assigned. They do recommend that you bring your own work gloves.
