Congregational Excellence Plans Events for Summer and Fall

The North Georgia Conference Center for Congregational Excellence announces a series of excellent upcoming events in the summer and fall of 2021. Whether you're clergy or lay, looking to start a new worship service, looking to launch a new ministry, or seeking ways to grow in faith, there are opportunities to consider.​

UPCOMING EVENTS 

  • "A Day With" Speaker Series 
    Saturdays, July - October 
    Various Saturdays, July through October, there will be half-day opportunities to learn from and sit down with Authors featured on our Summer Reading Challenge list. The events will be available to clergy and laity, and can be accessed digitally in addition to the in person events. 
  • Mission Insite Trainings 
    3rd Wednesdays of June, July, and August 
    Learn the basics of how to use the Mission Insite database. Trainings are online and held from 10 to 11:30 a.m. Register at www.ngumc.org/MissionInsite.
  • KIDS MIN Fall Retreat 
    September 17-19, 2021
    This retreat is for 3rd-5th graders and their leaders to experience Christian discipleship and adventure.
  • Fall Confirmation Retreat 
    October 1-3, 2021
    This retreat focuses on building unity in your confirmation class and helping your confirmation students recognize how God has already been involved in their lives - even before they knew it. 
  • ROOTED Retreats 
    October 8-10 and 15-17, 2021 
    This retreat focuses on the things that help our faith grow deep and helps youth groups look at how they can be an integral part of nurturing the seeds of faith that are planted in the lives of teenagers.
  • KINDLING THE FIRE Preaching and Worship Planning Retreat 
    Date TBD
    This retreat's focus will be to create a dedicated time and space for preachers and worship planners to design months of worship plans for their local contexts. 
  • Tillman Academy 
    Launches Fall 2021
    This cohort's focus is to equip daring church leaders to reimagine and repurpose currently underutilized facilities and spaces to create vibrant epicenters for community-transforming ministry. 
  • New Church Planters Academy 
    Launches Fall 2021
    This cohort's focus is to equip United Methodist clergy for planting and launching new churches, including stand alone, multi-campus, vital mergers, and cooperative parish models of new church development.
