Health Departments Need Volunteers for Vaccine Distribution

As the distribution of the COVID-19 vaccine in our communities continues, many County Health Departments are in need of volunteers.

"This is an opportunity for the church to serve the community at a time of community need," said Rev. Scott Parrish, Conference Disaster Response Coordinator. "In addition to our prayers, we can offer our time in support of those on the front line who are exhausted and need help."

If your congregation is willing to mobilize volunteers, Scott offers three suggestions:
  1. Reach out to your County Health Department.
  2. Have one point of contact from your church.
  3. Be available to "go where sent" whether that is directing traffic, handling paperwork, connecting with members who are skilled medical professionals.
