Hurricane Sally Update: Praying for All in the Path of The Storm

9/16/2020

Less than one month after the Gulf Coast was struck by Hurricane Laura, all eyes turned this week to Hurricane Sally.

Conference leaders have been in contact with counterparts in Alabama, Florida, Mississippi and South Georgia as heavy rains and winds from the slow-moving storm may have wide-ranging impact. Many areas of the Florida Panhandle and coastal Alabama remain without power and are in the early stages of assessment.

"With Hurricane Laura, Hurricane Sally, and the current devastating western wildfires we know that in addition to our prayers by giving to UMCOR is the very best immediate response," said Rev. Scott Parrish, Conference Disaster Response Coordinator.

As always, our Conference Early Response Teams stand ready to assist as they are needed, but never self-deploy.
