North Georgia United Methodists Giving Generously After Hurricanes

11/15/2018

The generosity of North Georgia United Methodists is obvious as gifts come in to support Hurricane Michael and Hurricane Florence recovery efforts. In just three weeks, North Georgia UMs have donated $71,032.88 for recovery in Southwest Georgia.

Additionally, $89,583.18 has been given for recovery from Hurricane Florence in North Carolina and $358,000 has been given in total this year to UMCOR (United Methodist Committee on Relief).

Gifts have come from small churches, like Gordon's Chapel in the Athens-Elberton District where Rev Joel Embry shares they took an offering for $700 in one Sunday, and from charge conference gatherings, like the LaGrange-area charge conference which collected an offering for South Georgia.

Gifts are still being collected for the Bishop's Appeal for South Georgia. Use North Georgia Conference Fund #3743. Donations may be made to any North Georgia Conference United Methodist Church by marking your gift for the "Bishop's Appeal for South Georgia" or Fund #3743. Donate online at www.ngumc.org/DonateNow
