North Georgia United Methodists Volunteer and Serve at General Conference

In addition to our delegation and our bishop, other North Georgia Conference laity and clergy are serving in important roles at the General Conference.

Rev. Jasmine Smothers serves as a member of the 32-person Commission on a Way Forward, made up of United Methodists from around the world. She presented a portion of the Way Forward Report on February 24. She has served prayerfully and faithfully on the Commission since being named as a member in fall of 2016.

Rev. Chuck Savage serves as chair of the General Conference Committee on Reference. Normally only meeting during a General Conference, the responsibility of this committee necessitated a meeting in the fall to review all legislation in advance of the special session. Savage delivered the first report of the special session this morning. "It's been my privilege to serve," said Savage to the General Conference.

Volunteering as marshalls and pages are Rev. AnnaKate Rawles, Jay Horton, Rev. Scott Pickering, and Rev. Steven Riddle.

Conference IT Director Michael Murphy-McCarthy is volunteering as part of the technology team.
