How to Participate in Annual Conference 2020: Voice and Vote

The North Georgia Conference will hold a virtual Annual Conference Session on Saturday, August 29. Gathering and log on will begin at 8:30 am. Session One is from 9:30 to 12:30 and Session Two is from 1:30 to 4:30.
The virtual session will utilize a trusted online meeting and voting platform that will allow members to securely participate using an internet-connected device. It is the same system used for the Virtual Clergy Executive Session in July. Your Conference Handbook includes a virtual meeting guide (page 16) for the 2020 North Georgia Annual Conference.

Here are the basics of using your voice and vote during AC2020.

Log Into the Meeting
You've already done the most important step: registering! Three days before the meeting (that's today!), registered members (that's you!) will receive instructions on how to log in, along with your username (your email address) and your unique passcode.

We encourage you to practice logging in as soon as you receive the instructions. If you have any problems, just email

On Saturday, August 29, login starts at 8:30 a.m.

During the session, you will vote on a number of items before the Conference. Once you log into the meeting with your email address and unique password, your ability to vote is enabled. When the bishop opens a vote, the item you are voting on will be displayed on your screen. Vote by simpling clicking on your choice. A confirmation will show on your screen that your vote has been received.

All votes will be a choice between "Yes," "No," or "Abstain."

During the session, you may ask a question, submit a point of order, or speak "for" or "against" a motion. To participate in this way, click the Message Icon on the meeting screen.

If you would like to speak for or against a motion, format your message in this way: "For: <your phone number>" or "Against: <your phone number>". A Conference Associate Secretary will call you at the number you provide and add you to a speaker queue.

If you would like to ask a question or submit a point of order, type your message, and click "Send."

A team of moderators, including our conference chancellor, will review every submission. Messages will be displayed for the Bishop and Conference Secretary to see and respond to according to our parliamentary procedures (check your handbook for those).
