Plans Underway for 2018 Annual Conference

Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson and the Annual Conference Planning Committee are busy preparing for the 2018 Annual Conference Session, set for June 12-14 at The Classic Center in Athens.

With a theme of "Moving Toward Perfection in Love," the focus of the 3-day event will be spiritual disciplines.

The Conference is scheduled to begin on Tuesday morning at 10 a.m. with the clergy executive session in the Theater.

Laity will experience something new this year. Rather than a large Laity Orientation session, lay members will be invited to choose between several learning opportunities Tuesday morning.

Four worship services will anchor our time together.

Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson will preach Opening Worship on Tuesday at 2 p.m. Other preachers will be the Rev. Elaine Puckett who will preach the memorial service on Wednesday afternoon; the Rev. Byron Thomas who will preach the ordination service Wednesday evening, and the Rev. Rodrigo Cruz who will preach closing worship on Thursday.

This year's special offering will go toward The Ministerial Education Fund. This fund is one way United Methodists can show our support to those called to serve as clergy.

Registration will open in early April.
