The Renfro Trust Fund awards annual brick-and-mortar grants to small rural United Methodist congregations in the Southeastern Jurisdiction. Churches in unusual or challenging situations for which insufficient funds are available from other local sources are eligible for the grants.
Grants, with the maximum amount of $5,000, are considered for projects involving new or existing church buildings. Repairs required to maintain the structural integrity or soundness of the church building may be included as part of a request. Major equipment directly related to the overall project may also be included.
Funds will not be awarded for parsonages, general maintenance on a church building or equipment. Grants for debt reduction will not be considered. Grants will be made to a church for the same project only one time.
Applications from churches located in towns of less than 10,000, villages or open country should be submitted through your Annual Conference Director of Missions.
North Georgia congregations should submit their applications by August 17 to Rev. Scott Parrish by email to email@example.com or by mail to Rev. Scott Parrish, 1700 Century Circle NE, Atlanta, GA 30345.
