North Georgia Conference retirees, clergy who will retire in June, and candidates for ordination at Annual Conference gathered for the annual Retiree Luncheon and a day apart with Bishop Sue Haupert-Johnson this week. Sponsored by Wesley Woods, the day included guest speakers, a delicious luncheon, breakout sessions, and worship.
"I rejoice as I think about how many hours of pastoral care, sermon prep, and youth lock-ins are represented here," said Bishop Sue.
Bishop Sue called on the retirees to be mentors and to over-invest in the young, to keep up spiritual practices, and to pour themselves out in ministry. Most of all, she called on them to "be a means of grace."
