Black Church Development Committee Seeking Nominations for Leadership Development Series Participants


The Black Church Development Committee is seeking your nominations for a Leadership Development Series designed to strengthen the Black Church. Our goal is to identify up to 20 clergy or certified candidates for ministry to enter into an intentional series of training in the areas of:

  • Technology
  • Self-Care
  • Effective Pastoral Leadership
  • Budgeting and Finance
  • Evangelism and Community Engagement
  • Discipleship Pathways
  • Multi-ethnic and Cross Cultural Appointments
  • Small Group Engagement
  • Equipping Pastors and Leaders for Best Strategies on Engaging Social Justice

An ideal candidate would be:

  • At least 21 years old
  • A certified candidate, local pastor, provisional member, or full connection member of the North Georgia Annual Conference
  • Identifies self as Black or serving a Black (African American) church
  • Has held a place of service for at least 1 year in a United Methodist congregation or United Methodist Campus Ministry
  • In the latter stages or exploring a call or accepted God’s call upon their life
  • Have served no more than 7 years beyond consecration as a provisional member
  • If a local pastor, has completed basic course of study and has served no more than 10 years
