Survey: Your Input Needed as Aldergate/Collinswood Develops Seminar

Aldergate/Collinswood is asking United Methodists to complete a survey to help as they develop a new seminar on integrating people with developmental disabilities into the life of the church. Below is a letter from Rev. Anne Hansen, Executive Director, and a link to the survey.

Dear North Georgia United Methodists,

Our mission at Aldersgate/Collinswood ministry is to help people with developmental disabilities lead more productive lives in the community. In addition to our Collinswood recreational site and “Welcome Home” ministries, Aldersgate/Collinswood is starting a new ministry, “New Day Seminars”.

The “New Day Seminar” is designed to partner with churches to develop a ministry to integrate people with developmental disabilities into the life of churches. Eighty percent of those families with a family member who is disabled are unchurched. This is the large population that we are trying to help churches reach.

Below is a link for a brief survey to give Aldersgate/Collinswood guidance as to what to include in the seminar and what session would benefit churches the most. We hope to have the seminar in late spring or early summer. Please contact me if you have any specific suggestions.

Thank you for completing this survey! It is a huge first step for us all.

Rev. Anne Hansen
Aldersgate/Collinswood Executive Director
