A Message From Action Ministries

1/9/2020

From Action Ministries:

As we begin 2020, we at Action Ministries would like to extend a huge thank you to the churches that participated in Action Ministries Sunday and for all those who ordered Action Ministries Advent Calendars. We enjoyed hearing from families across our conference who were intentional about the Advent season while learning about the challenges facing so many of our neighbors struggling with hunger. Calendars will be available again in 2020 so plan now to have an #adventinaction campaign!

We would also like to announce that Action Ministries has begun to search for a new CEO, as Kelley Henderson will be relocating to Memphis to lead Catholic Charities of West Tennessee. Kelley extends gratitude for all of you who support local missions, especially the work to bring hope and compassion to our neighbors on the margins. "It has been a privilege and honor to serve alongside you in the Greater Atlanta community for 20 years, and I plan to watch from afar the amazing things to come from this organization that we all have grown to love,” says Kelley.

We know Action Ministries has a special place in your heart because together we have served over 100,000 people struggling with hunger and homelessness over the past year. The important work continues as we prepare for the next chapter in Action Ministries history, and we ask for your prayers and support as the Board of Action Ministries anticipates having a CEO in place by Annual Conference in June. Our team remains dedicated to ending poverty across the Conference, but we cannot do it without your help. This work happens through “the hands and feet” of thousands of volunteers from hundreds of churches across North Georgia. Action Ministries staff are always happy to speak at worship, Sunday Schools, mission committee meetings, and other church gatherings. For ideas on how your congregation can help end poverty in your area or to ask about speaking engagements, please contact Rev. Jenna Kennedy at jkennedy@actionministries.net.
