Hal Jones

Director of Connectional Ministries

Hal, an Elder in our North Georgia Conference, began his ministry in the North Georgia Conference in 1978 as Associate Pastor at Mount Bethel UMC in Marietta. For the 25+ years prior to joining the North Georgia Conference team as Director of Connectional Ministries on July 1st, 2020, Hal served in various Healthcare Administration roles, including Assistant Dean at the Emory School of Medicine, Director of Care Transformation for Emory Healthcare, Chief Operating Officer for Talbott Recovery Campus, Sr. Vice President at the Betty Ford Center, and Vice President of Quality Management at Eisenhower Medical Center in Rancho Mirage, California. Hal’s most recent appointment before joining the Conference staff was as CEO at The United Methodist Children’s Home/Wellroot Family Services.
Hal is married to Melinda, now retired and also an Elder in our Conference. Hal and Melinda have two sons, Steven (married to Reesey), a Chief in the Coast Guard, and Jeff (married to Lizzy) is the Supervisor for Patient Transport at Emory Hospital/The Emory Clinic.
